Bandai Spirit build up nippers

Bandai produces a range of tools that aim to help the Gunpla enthusiast build their models. Firstly, and most importantly, are the Bandai Spirit build up nippers which are most definitely an essential tool.

Nippers are an essential part of the build process for most non entry grade kits, and allow the builder to cut the plastic stubs/numbs that are holding the piece to the runner. As a result the builder avoids stressing the models parts.

Kits comprise of multiple runners which have the parts attached to them. To build the models the parts need to be separated from the runners. Normal practice is to cut the piece of plastic that connects the part to the runner. A small part of the connection is left intact to avoid stressing the plastic. Then the excess is either:

• Removed with a craft knife
• Sanded down with sandpaper or a sandpaper stick
• Trimmed down with a craft knife and then finished off with the sandpaper or sandpaper stick
